This week’s Canadian Open is a bit of a reprieve from the intensity and fervor of last week’s major championship in Scotland. Bonus points because the golf doesn’t start at 1:30 a.m.

It’s a great field, too. Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Sergio Garcia, Tony Finau and Tommy Fleetwood will all be in action at Glen Abbey as we continue a summer run of different countries’ open-to-all events. This one is (obviously) the least of the three, but it finds itself smack-dab in the middle of a bang-up four-week stretch of golf (Open, Candian Open, WGC-Bridgestone and PGA Championship).

So kick back, drink in this field and enjoy the festivities before things start heating up again literally in Akron next week for the WGC and in St. Louis the week after for the PGA.

Brooks Koepka, Tony Finau, Bubba Watson, Mike Weir, Sergio Garcia, Tommy Fleetwood, Dustin Johnson, Jimmy Walker, Si Woo Kim, Ian Poulter, Ryan Armour and defending champion Jhonattan Vegas are among notables in the field at the PGA Tour’s RBC Canadian Open 2018 this week. Round 1 is Thursday, July 26.

Johnson leads a competitive field that also includes U.S. Open victor Brooks Koepka, two-time Canadian Open victor Jim Furyk, and top-20 players Tommy Fleetwood and Bubba Watson.

“With the Canadians now on Tour and the camaraderie, I think it’s awesome because you feel like there’s nearly strength in numbers, especially when you come to a week like this when you feel like, ‘OK, we’ve got 20 guys in the field, and I feel like a lot of these guys can contend on a good week and have a chance to win, ‘” Hughes said.
